Potty Trained!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you see all those exclamation points up there? Coen decided sometime in March that he was done with diapers. He took Justin’s hand at Costco and said “I have to go pee-pee, Daddy.” After we got home and I was getting him ready for bed, he scolded me when I tried to put a diaper on him. He told me that he is a big boy and that he doesn’t wear diapers anymore.
And that was that. There were a few accidents the first week and now he’s just like every other “big boy”.
Acupuncture & Lifestyle Changes
February brought some new experiences for our family. I decided to try acupuncture in January to help my body ovulate (as we’d still like to grow our family), but after four sessions we decided that I should look into what else is going on in my body. I went in for an ultrasound and found out that I have PCOS: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. You can google it. It’s multi-faceted so it’s tough to explain, but I’m insulin resistant and my hormones are probably out of balance. I’m relatively thin to have this syndrome, so even tiny changes or factors like eating a banana or eating a non-organic apple can have a HUGE impact on my body.
SO, February began a bit of a lifestyle/diet change for me especially, and we’re waiting to see the results. I was prescribed Metformin (a pre-diabetic drug to help with insulin resistance) and I have been much more careful with my diet. So far, I haven’t seen too many changes and I still have yet to ovulate, but we pray that things will start to come around soon!
Valentine’s Day & the Zoo
Happy Valentine’s (Valtimes) Day from Coen!
We went to the zoo with some friends, but Titus (pushing stroller) and Coen had more fun pushing and pulling each other in wagons and strollers. The animals were fun to see and it was a beautiful 50-60 degree day in February, but Coen hadn’t napped and it was NOT a pretty sight. We plan to return when he is in a better mood and we can have a little more fun!
Never did Justin or I imagine we’d live somewhere that February was sunscreen weather, but here we are. Colorado is awesome!
Oh, man, Jan.
January. What a fun month! We celebrated New Year’s at New York time with the ball dropping with our good friends Sarah, Ryan, and Sarah’s two girls. Sadie (pictured with Coen) is one of Coen’s best friends and she likes to tell him what to do. It’s good for him. : )
Happy New Years!!!
Katrina and Isaac came to visit for a week mid-January. My mom also came out for a couple days to spend time with the grandsons, which is good because I had a bout with food poisoning. It was so nice to have them here to take care of Coen!
We also started babysitting a 2 1/2-year-old boy a few mornings a week, and Coen has adjusted well to sharing on a regular basis with the same person.
Isaac pretty much look frightened the whole time he was in the tub. Our tub is slippery, and having a bubble bath didn’t make anything less so. They had a great time in there!
